22 units (3 Elective Unit Other Elective | 13 Core Unit | 2 Elective Unit Group A | 2 Elective Unit Group B | 2 Elective Unit Group C)

Packaging Rules

21 units must be completed:
13 core units
8 elective units, consisting of:
at least 3 units from those units listed under Groups A, B, or C
Up to 5 units from the electives listed below.

Any combination of electives that meets the rules above can be selected for the award of the Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support. Electives may be packaged to provide a qualification with a specialisation, as outlined below.

Packaging for each specialisation:

All Group A electives with the remaining 5 units from either Groups B, C or D must be selected for the award of the Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support (Compounding).

All Group B electives with the remaining 6 units from either Groups A, C or D must be selected for the award of the Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support (Clinical Support).

All Group C electives with the remaining 5 units from either Groups A, B or D must be selected for the award of the Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support (Leadership).

Where two specialisations are completed award of the qualification would read Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support (Compounding, Clinical Support) or Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support (Compounding, Leadership) or Certificate IV in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support (Clinical Support, Leadership).

The selection of electives must be guided by the job outcome sought, local industry requirements and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.
